Create custom reports

  • Sellers with the reports permission to view detailed sales reporting can create or edit custom reports. Set permissions in Square Dashboard.

About custom reports

With custom reports, you can view all your favorite insights in one place from your Square Dashboard by creating customized, exportable reports in minutes. 

Before you begin

To create and manage your custom reports, you need to have access to your Square Dashboard. Custom reports cannot be viewed on the Square POS apps.

You can add the following blocks to your custom reports:

  • Key statistics

  • Sales summary

  • Payment methods

  • Item sales

  • Category sales

  • Team member sales

  • Discounts

  • Modifier sales

  • Taxes

Create custom reports

To create a custom report:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Reports.

  2. Click Custom reports > Create New Report.

  3. Name your report > click Add Report to add additional blocks. Custom reports will automatically include your sales summary report, but it can be removed by clicking X at the top right corner of the report.

  4. Once your reports are added, hover over each section to reveal options to filter or add/remove columns.

  5. Click Save Report.

Once your custom report has been created, use the date-selector to specify the date range to view your data. 

You can also export your custom reports. For details, go to Print, export or email your reports.

The ability to save the date/time filters to your custom reports is not currently available.

Edit custom reports

To edit an existing custom report:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Reports.

  2. Click Custom reports > use the dropdown menu next to Custom Reports: on the upper-left to find a saved report.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Make desired changes to your custom report and click Save.
