Use Square Go with Square Appointments

    Square Go seamlessly connects with Square Appointments so clients can discover, book, and rebook local beauty or personal care professionals. Square Go automatically syncs with Square Appointments to show the same services, prices, and calendar availability—any bookings made via the Square Go app on iOS devices will immediately appear on your Square Appointments POS app.

    Square Go attracts clients by recommending businesses that similar clients have visited.

    Before you begin

    To access a free Square Go profile, you need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

    • Be based in the United States.

    • Be an eligible business type (beauty or personal care). Square Go doesn’t show if your business is ineligible.

      • Businesses that fit the following criteria are eligible for Square Go include beauty and personal care business, such as beauty salons, hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, med spas, massage parlors, tattoo or piercing parlors, and more.

    • Enable online booking with Square Appointments. Learn how to set up your health & beauty business with Square and .

    • Have at least one client booking in the last 30 days. Learn how to create and schedule appointments.

    Square Go is not yet available on Android devices. Please let us know if you would be interested by emailing us at go-research@squareup.com.

    Step 1: Set up your Square Go profile

    If you have online booking turned on, your profile is already live–all you have to do is add photos and review your business listing.

    To review and edit how your business appears on Square Go:

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Appointments or Payments > Appointments.

    2. Click Online Booking > Channels > Square Go.

    3. Click Get started or Manage profile > Next.

    4. If applicable, select your location(s) from the dropdown menu.

    5. Toggle ON your location.

    6. Under Photos, click + to show potential customers how your location looks by adding photos of the shop front, interior and services.

    7. Add a business description, then review your services and staff.

    8. Configure your settings for Google reviews - help customers learn about your business by displaying ratings and reviews from your Google Business Profile. Learn how to set up your Google Business Profile.

    9. Review your location information and cancellation policy.

    Updates here will reflect immediately in the Square Go app without the need to save changes. You can click View in App to preview the changes.

    Make sure your profile is complete and up to date. A great profile has photos of your salon and services, a compelling unique business description, clear service names and descriptions, and staff profiles.

    Opt-out of Square Go

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Appointments or Payments > Appointments.

    2. Click Online Booking > Channels > Square Go.

    3. If applicable, select your location(s) from the dropdown menu.

    4. Toggle OFF your location.

    5. The location will appear as Listing inactive.

    Your existing clients will still be able to use Square Go to manage their bookings, but new clients will not be able to discover you.

    You are not able to accept payments from Square Go at this time. We are working to accept payments in the future.

    Step 2: Download the Square Go app

    Your client can scan the QR code below to automatically be directed to the App Store on their iOS device.

    Once a client installs the Square Go app for iOS devices, they can sign in with the same phone number they use to book appointments. Clients can view all past appointments in their profile history.

    Edit your Square Go profile

    1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Appointments or Payments > Appointments.

    2. Click Online Booking > Channels > Square Go.

    3. Make changes to your profile.

    4. Updates here will reflect immediately in the app without any need to save changes.
