About fulfillment settings
Square offers multiple fulfillment options for businesses; in store, shipping, pickup, in-house delivery, on-demand delivery, and self-serve. Fulfillment settings in the Square Dashboard allow you to manage delivery hours, large order settings, on-POS arrival alerts, restricted dates, shipping, shipment carriers, and location details. You can set specific delivery hours and restricted dates for holidays.
Before you begin
You can only manage fulfillment settings from your Square Dashboard.
Before you set up pickup and delivery options, set up your online store with Square to configure the settings and accept online orders.
Step 1: Set up pickup and delivery
Pickup and delivery locations
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Account & Settings > Fulfillment > Pickup & Delivery.
Click Set up location.
Configure the relevant pickup settings, then click Continue.
Configure the relevant delivery settings, then click Continue.
Review your settings, then click Done.
Optional pickup and delivery settings
Large order settings: You can set a quantity limit to prevent unexpected large pickup or delivery orders. To set a quantity limit, click Advanced settings from Pickup & Delivery, then enter an order limit with an optional note.
On-POS arrival alerts: Customers can reply HERE via text to announce they’ve arrived. To manage this feature, go to Advanced settings from Pickup & Delivery, then toggle the setting ON/OFF.
Step 2: Set up shipping
Print labels, ship orders and track shipments all from Square Order Manager. To do so, you can configure the following settings.
Create shipping labels
You can Set up shipping carriers with Shippo or Set up custom shipping boxes to accurately estimate shipping costs when printing shipping labels.
Add fulfillment locations
‘Ship From’ addresses are where your shipments originate from and are used for tax calculation during checkout for customers. To manage fulfillment locations, visit Account & Settings > Business information > Locations from your Square Dashboard.
Connect shipment carriers
Square partners with shipping carriers like FedEx and UPS — services responsible for delivering orders to customers. With Real Time Shipping in Square Online, you can connect your account to FedEx or UPS to fulfill your orders. Learn how to Set up shipping carriers with Shippo.
Create shipping rate profiles
You can Set up shipping rate profiles that can be applied to orders based on the customer’s location.
