About pending appointments
You can set up your Square Appointment settings to require appointment acceptance. Then your appointment requests appear as pending until you accept or decline them.
Before you begin
To set an acceptance requirement for appointment requests, you need to enable the reservation guarantee in the settings from your Square Dashboard.
Pending appointments appear on your calendar from your Square Dashboard and Square Appointments POS app. They also appear in the overview page of your Square Dashboard.
If declined, the pending appointment will drop off the overview page and your calendar.
If accepted, the appointment moves to your upcoming appointments and is confirmed and reflected on your calendar.
Step 1: Set an acceptance requirement for appointment requests
Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Appointments or Payments > Appointments.
Click Settings > Calendar & Booking.
Under the Online Booking Preferences section, select Business must accept or decline all appointment requests next Reservation Guarantee.
Click Save.
Step 2: Accept or decline appointments
- Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Appointments or Payments > Appointments.
- From the Overview page, view the pending appointment under Notifications. You can also click Calendar and select a pending appointment.
- Click Accept or Decline.
- Select a notification type―email or text―and enter an optional message.
- Click Send.
