Square and Devices with Known Issues

Square Device Compatibility

Learn which devices have compatibility issues with Square hardware and software.

Whilst you may have been able to use a device previously to process transactions using your Square Reader, our mobile security team is constantly refining our software in order to maintain strict security standards on our platform.

We are required to update our software from time to time to ensure it is secure for our sellers and your customers.

To view which Android-based devices are compatible with our hardware, visit our Device Compatibility page to see which devices we can guarantee will work.
