About ordering gift cards
With Square, it's easy to create and sell custom physical gift cards for your business. You can also create and sell eGift cards online and in-store.
Once you set up your free online eGift card order site, your customers will be able to send eGift cards via email to individuals, multiple people all at once or even to themselves. They can also create a group gift by letting contributors add funds to an eGift card online before it is sent to the recipient.
Before you begin
You have two options if you want to provide gift cards for your business:
You can customize and order physical gift cards.
You can set up eGift cards that can be sent to customers by email.
Order physical gift cards
Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards.
Select Plastic Gift Cards.
Click Order Cards.
Select Quick Card or Custom Card > Continue.
Add your information, including any business details.
Add optional accessories such as sleeves or displays to help boost your gift card sales.
Click Submit and Continue to Checkout.
Confirm your order details, enter your billing details, and click Place Order.
Set up Square eGift cards
- Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards.
- Select eGift Cards > Configure.
- Toggle on Sell eGift Cards in Store to enable this option in the Square POS app.
- Choose a design for your eGift card, or upload a file. The suggested image size for custom designs is 640 x 400 pixels per inch.
Edit your Square eGift card settings
Delete a custom design
Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards.
Select eGift Cards > Configure.
Select Manage Designs.
Uncheck a design to remove it and click Save.
Upload your own design
Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards.
Select eGift Cards > Configure.
Select Manage Designs > Add Design.
Click Upload New Image or Select A File To Upload.
Click Save.
List or remove Square eGift cards in marketplaces
Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards.
Select eGift Cards > Configure.
Toggle on Sell eGift Cards online and Show a link to my eGift Cards in public directories.
Allow customers to add Square eGift cards to their Apple Wallets
Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards.
Select Settings and toggle on Enable Apple Wallet integration for eGift cards.
Choose an optional image and click Save.
Allow Square eGift card bulk ordering
Sign in to Square Dashboard, then click Payments > Gift Cards > eGift cards.
Select Configure and toggle on Allow Bulk eGift Card Ordering.
Enter the maximum number of eGift cards customers can purchase per order.
Click Save.
