About sending eGift cards
With Square, you can purchase and send eGift cards to you or others as gifts. eGift cards can be personalized with messages and delivered instantly, making them a convenient option for last-minute gifting.
An eGift card works the same way as a plastic gift card. On a businesses' order page, you choose the amount you want to put on the eGift card, pay the amount in full, and instead of getting a plastic card, you'll receive an email confirming your purchase with a unique redemption code.
Before you begin
You can purchase and send personalized eGift cards from the Square seller's eGift card order page.
You can view your eGift card details, balance, transfer balance, and additional redemption details from your Square profile.
Send eGift cards
Send an eGift card to yourself or another individual
Visit the Square seller's eGift card order page.
Select the gift card design you would like to send.
Select For one individual.
Select an eGift card amount.
If applicable, enter a promotion code.
Enter your name and email address.
Add a personal message for the recipient.
Enter the recipient's name and email address for delivery, or toggle on Send this card to myself.
Enter the quantity of gift cards you would like sent.
Select whether you'd like this eGift card sent instantly or on a future date > Checkout.
Enter your payment card details at checkout, confirm order details > Place Order.
Send an eGift card to a multiple people
Visit the Square seller's eGift card order page.
Select the gift card design you would like to send.
Select For multiple people.
Select an eGift card amount.
If applicable, enter a promotion code.
Enter your name and email address.
Add a personal message for the recipients.
Enter or copy and paste a list of your recipient's email addresses into the delivery details section. Each email address needs to be separated by a comma.
Enter the quantity of gift cards you would like each recipient to receive.
Select whether you'd like this eGift card sent instantly or on a future date > Checkout.
Enter your payment card details at checkout, confirm order details > Place Order.
After you complete your order the recipient(s) will receive the eGift card to the email addresses entered. From the email, recipients can view the eGift card 16-digit code, and click View Your eGift Card to associate it to a phone number for faster checkout at a Square business.
Send an eGift card from a group of contributors to an individual
Visit the Square seller's eGift card order page.
Select the gift card design you would like to send.
Select Group gift card.
Select the amount that you would like to contribute. Other contributors will also have the option to send a custom amount.
If applicable, enter a promotion code.
Enter your name and email address.
Add a personal message for the recipient.
Enter the recipient's name and email address for delivery.
Select the date you would like the eGift card to be sent to the recipient.
Enter additional contributor email addresses separated by commas.
Add an invitation message and suggested contribution amount to contributors > Checkout.
Enter your payment card details at checkout and confirm order details > Place Order.
After checkout contributors will receive an email asking them to contribute to the eGift card. From there, they will be able to load funds online. To add more funds to the eGift card, you can View group gift to make an additional contribution or copy and paste the Share link and share it with individuals so that they can contribute to the gift.
Reload your eGift card
When you're ready to use your eGift card with a Square seller, simply provide the cashier the 16-digit eGift card number to process the payment. This can be found in the original email you received containing your eGift Card.
If you did not receive the email with the eGift card, check your junk mail and spam folders. If you still can't find the email or you no longer have access to the email inbox the eGift card was sent to, contact the Square seller and ask for them to resend the eGift card to a different email address.
If you've added your phone number via your eGift cards details page, you can also give the cashier your email address or phone number at checkout to search your eGift card.
Combine multiple gift cards
Log in to your Square profile.
Select one of the multiple gift cards and select Transfer balance.
Enter the transfer details and select which cards to combine, then click Transfer balance.
Customers can also combine a new gift card with an existing gift card. They will just need the 16-digit card number. Square eGift cards do not expire.
Redeem an eGift card
When you're ready to use your eGift Card with the Square seller, simply provide the cashier the 16-digit eGift Card number to process the payment. This can be found in the original email you received containing your eGift Card.

Use Give and Get Local Directory to find local businesses and buy eGift cards
Customers can also order eGift cards online through the Give and Get Local Directory. The Give and Get Local Directory is a listing of businesses who offer Square eGift Cards. It allows buyers to browse and purchase eGift cards from local businesses in their area, including your own. If a customer decides to buy an eGift card to your business through the Give and Get Local Directory, they will be directed to your custom eGift card order site to complete their purchase. The Give and Get Local Directory is also featured and promoted by select partners to encourage more customers to support local businesses.
To search for your business or others that offer eGift cards in the Give and Get Local Directory:
On the Give and Get Local Directory page, enter in an address or press Use current location.
Apply additional filters, such as business category, if needed.
Select the business you wish to order an eGift card from and continue through the checkout process on that business' eGift card order site.
