Unsubscribe from Square Marketing emails for customers

About marketing emails

Square Email Marketing allows businesses to send promotions, announcements, event invitations, and coupons to customers. A Square business can send you a marketing email if you gave them your email address through specific channels, such as:

  • Recording your email address when booking through Square Appointments

  • Communicating with businesses via email

  • Email collection through a website or online purchase

  • Writing your email address on a sign up sheet

  • Entering your email address when choosing to receive a digital receipt

Before you begin 

  • Only a Square business that you gave your email to has access to personal information. This often occurs the first time you provide your email address to receive a receipt. 

  • Square doesn’t share your contact information with businesses that you haven’t directly given it to. 

  • If you’re receiving a marketing email from a business that’s using Square that you didn’t give your email to, they don’t have access to view your email address. 

Unsubscribe from marketing emails  

  1. Open your digital receipt and select Manage preferences

  2. To unsubscribe from all business’ email marketing campaigns, go to Email preferences and toggle off Receive offers & updates

  3. To unsubscribe from emails from specific businesses, go to Businesses visited and toggle off offers and updates from each individual business.
