Manage gift cards for Square for Franchises
About gift cards
Gift cards with Square for Franchises allows customers of your franchise organization to use gift cards across all franchise locations. With Square for Franchises, you can accept eGift cards as a payment method on your Square for Franchises online ordering platform. You can sell eGift Cards with predefined amounts or allow your customers to select an amount.
Before you begin
To sell eGift cards with Square for Franchises, you must have gift cards settings enabled by Square Support. If you need help setting up gift cards for Square for Franchises, contact Square Support.
Square for Franchises eGift cards are only sold on your Square for Franchises curated online ordering page or app. You can still sell Square gift cards and eGifts cards through your Square account.
You can manage your gift card sales and settings from your Square for Franchises dashboard.
Import gift cards
Once gift card sales are enabled at locations, franchisees can import existing gift cards.
Sign in to your Square for Franchises dashboard, then select a franchisee location from the drop-down menu.
Select Payment > Gift Cards.
Select Imports.
Download the CSV file template. The template will show you how to structure your data for an easy, successful import.
Drag and drop your completed gift card CSV file into the upload field or select it from your computer to upload the file.
Enable gift card sales
Sign in to your Square for Franchises dashboard, then select your merchant level location from the drop-down menu.
From the menu, select Gift Card Settings.
Select your central location. The existing gift cards will be replicated to all other locations.
Select + Add Locations and select which locations that will accept gift cards.
Adjust your gift card settings
Sign in to your Square for Franchises dashboard, then select your central location.
Select Payment > Gift Cards.
Select Settings.

For eGift Cards Amount, you have two options:
Select Define manually the default amounts that will appear on the online order page to set predefined gift cards amounts. Enter your gift card amounts and select Add.
Select Generate values automatically using incremental steps and enter the minimum and maximum amounts for your gift cards. You can include incremental values in this step.
Under Custom Amounts, select Enable your customer to set-up a custom amount for gift card to allow customers to choose custom gift card amounts.
Enter the minimum and maximum amounts for your gift cards.
Under Discounts, you can add optional gift card discounts. Enter an optional discount percentage and maximum discount amount.
Select Save.
