Use Reserve with Google with Square Appointments
Using Reserve with Google and Square Appointments allows you to create, cancel, and reschedule appointments directly from Google search results. It also increases your exposure and reaches both new and existing customers. Your new bookings will sync with Square Appointments and you can view if an appointment was booked from Google through the appointment details on your calendar, and in the appointment notification email.
With this feature your customers can use Google Search, Google Maps, and the Reserve with Google site to book quickly and easily with your business.
Note: Classes are not compatible with this feature.
Before you get started
Claim your business on Google if you haven’t already.
Verify that your Google business address matches your address listed on Square Appointments.
Activate Reserve with Google
You can activate Reserve with Google directly from your Square Appointments Dashboard or from your Square Appointments app. To activate via the app, download the latest version from the App Store.
From your Appointments Dashboard:
Go to Customers > Appointments from your online Square Dashboard.
Select Online Booking.
Next to "Reserve with Google," click Get Started.
Select Request Activation > Confirm Request to send your request to Google.
From your Square Appointments app:
Open your Appointments menu and tap Online Booking.
Under "Booking Channels," select Reserve with Google.
Claim your business on Google if you haven’t already.
Tap Request Activation > Confirm.
If after 72 hours, you don’t see the option to book an appointment for your business on Google, check your physical address and Google’s business restrictions.
Note: To be able to use Reserve with Google you must be an owner or tenant of your physical place of business. Unfortunately, booth or room renters do not qualify.
Deactivate Reserve with Google
You can disable Reserve with Google for all your business locations from your Square Appointments Dashboard or Appointments app at any time.
From your Appointments Dashboard:
Go to Customers > Appointments > Online Booking from your online Square Dashboard.
Click Reserve with Google > Manage.
Click Deactivate and then confirm you would like to deactivate.
From the Appointments app:
Open your Appointments app and tap Online Booking.
Select Reserve with Google > Disable and then confirm you would like to disable.
Allow up to 48 hours for the deactivation request to be reflected in your account.
Reserve with Google FAQ
Can I charge no-show fees with Reserve with Google?
No. If you accept bookings through Google you will not be able to charge a no-show fee.
Are there any restrictions to Reserve with Google?
Google has some business type restrictions that may affect your eligibility to use Reserve with Google. Additionally, appointments booked through Reserve with Google have the following limitations:
Customers cannot book multiple services in a single appointment.
Appointments cannot be secured with prepayment or no-show protection.
Appointments will be automatically accepted upon booking.
Only fixed price services are bookable.
If you have these features enabled in Square Appointments, you can still use Reserve with Google, however, these features won’t be supported in the bookings you receive from Google.
Can I use Reserve with Google with multiple business locations?
Yes. Be sure to verify each Google business address with your Square locations.
